Rappin Rev

I know a lot of you out there have heard the tunes of the famous Rappin Rev. Here is a new track, and better yet a video of him in action. I wish there was a video of Walmart, or I'm in the house.... Anyways, enjoy!!!

Sex God

Sex_god_me
I think this is one of the best books on sex that I have ever read. It is not just a book for married people or for single people, but for people. The book helps you take a deeper look into scripture and human nature. It is a quick read, and is a must read for anyone who is a teacher or preacher. It is an easy absorb, and helps you put into words a lot of things that you already know..... Take some time to read Rob Bell's Sex God if you have the chance.

In n Out Burger

In n Out BurgerOn Tuesday we ate at one of my favorite burger places here in California In n Out Burger.  The are Christian owned and you can see a verse on the bottom lip of a cup.  The thing that amazes me everytime, is the simple menu.  You have only a couple options, but it does a few things.  First, they have mastered thier menu.  All their food is very good.... Second, they can serve a ton of customers.  While we ate our lunch they went through 50 orders in the building alone, not including drive through.  Third, they have kept their identity.  I think as culture adjust we try and make everything we do to hit everyone.  However, some of the greatest churches we have been to on the road recognize their market and then hit the mark.  When you are great at burgers... Why mess with chicken sandwiches...  When you want a chicken sandwich you can go to chick-fil-a... Don't feel like you have to through out your identity...

Happy Thanksgiving

Happy ThanksgivingWe are in California for Thanksgiving Day!!! I am in Petaluma having a great time with a lot of my family.  It has been years since I have been here, and I have missed it so much.  Last night we had some of our favorite pizza in the world.  A great Chicago place is down the road and I enjoyed some Hawaian!!!  We had several meetings with pastors in the state and we will fly back to PA Friday.  As for today I wish you all a Happy Thanksgiving, and we will be eating some turkey.

California
Well we are on a plane after all the crazy dealings in airline travel.
We are going to the SF area to visit my grandparents over

New and old friends

New and old friendsWe have spent the last few days at a wonderful church in PA. Monroeville A/G had its annual missions convention and it was tremendous. I met their lead pastor about ten years ago in Springfield. Pastor Lance was visiting some of his old youth group alum and I happened to be hanging out that night. We then survived a 3 day snow in and had the time of our lives. We were so impressed with the church and the depth of the people. We made so many new friends while we were in homes and various ministry opportunities. It was sad to leave, but we must continue the itineration. We were able to reconnect with an old FYM alum!!! We love PJ!!!

At the movie theater this Sunday

At the movie theater this Sunday
This Sunday we were at Crossroads Church which is a plant from Monroeville A/G. We have loved our time at this church and we will be here until Wednesday. Kris Langdon is the pastor at Crossroads church in the theater. The first thing that hits you when you walk I to church is the smell of popcorn. That sure beats a lot of the smells I have experienced in other places. The seats were also the best "pews" that I have been in as well. Great screen to project the power point on as well. The atmospere of the church was fresh and alive!!! The only thing that was diffrent for me was were the congregation was sitting. Most of the time I am looking down to the audience, but here you are looking up, way up. I loved the new enviornment. It would be great to have a church in a theater in Greece. The coolest Thing was that we are going to be the first missionary they support. What an honor to be the first from a up and coming church!!! They will do great things in the years ahead.

Wall trophies

Wall trophies
In Meadville last night the church literally rolled out the red carpet
for our family. The also sang happy birthday to us for all the b-days we are going to miss in the US. The neatest thing for me was to see crutches and braces hanging from the walls. A reminder that miricles happen today. It was a statement that gets your spiritual juices pumping. Think if every church saw the miraculous happen and could hang their trophies from the wall. A reminder with God all things are possible.

Roy, Roy, Roy, Roy

Roy, Roy, Roy, Roy
To get the title you need to be willing to hum "the eye of the tiger".... Roy was one of our students at FYM and is studying at Edinburo University who h is near Erie, PA not Scottland. Roy stopped by our service on Thur and it was so good to see him. We had a lot of laughs remembering some good times, and swapping stories from the recent months. The best part of the night was when we were putting
Brady in the car to leave. He was singing... Roy, Roy, Roy, Roy....... I was a proud dad!
