Our very own Ryan Gerber hosted a tremendously successful event in the Harrisburg area over the weekend. Check it out on a local news site HERE. He is getting good practice before he moves over to Greece this summer!!
During the first week of March we had a fantastic group of students help us here for a week during their Spring Break. Not only were we hoping to get a few prospective students for our Engage Program, but also wanted to let them be a part of our daily lives.
One of the days we did an all out sticker bombing for our cafe in the city center. The students put up nearly 2,000 stickers of the cafe logo. No information. No website. Just a logo. I have heard countless people say "ah hah" when they put two and two together. After a month the stickers are still everywhere. I snapped this picture to give you a sneak peak into the marketing frenzy.
This past week we caught a huge break with the cafe. A group of guys were doing a service trip in Skjope, and my great friend Eddie White sent them down to us for a few days. As fate would have it one of the guys was a phenomenal carpenter. Andrea showed him the look that she wanted, and after a trip to the lumber yard we were on the way to an incredible bar!! The talent of the guys was incredible, but we were so impressed with the spirit in which they did everything.
I will post a picture of the rest of their work, but thought you might like to see the bar in the "i heart" cafe!!!
Our cafe is supporting several organizations in the city and globally. Our philosophy is to "heart" people, places, and things. One of the things we "heart" is the A21 campaign which is an anti-human trafficking organization.
On the 21st of each month i heart will sponsor an "i heart A21" day. In March we had a group of college students who helped us put on an incredible awareness event. To read more about it go to the A21 site and read their April Update.
